Why electric?
Your choice of car has a greater effect on the environment than any other consumer goods purchase that you make.
There are 700 million cars in the world today, a figure which is environmentally unsustainable. This is because transport is the biggest and the fastest growing source of greenhouse gas emissions. Chillingly the number of cars in the world is forecast to nearly double to 1.2 billion within the next 15 years.
Here are the main reasons for the urgent need to switch to electric cars:
We are running out of oil.
An increasing number of scientists now believe we have reached what is called Peak Oil. This is the point at which half of all the oil reserves have been used up. At the same time global demand for oil is rapidly increasing. Increasing demand and decreasing supply means price increases - the price of crude oil has already risen 900% in the last eight years and forecast to double within a decade. This would force people to radically rethink their mobility.
Eliminating petrol and diesel powered cars would end our dependence on foreign oil and improve national and global security. The world would be a safer place if every region produced its own energy in a sustainable, environmentally-sound manner.
We are running out of clean air.
Pollution is a growing threat, particularly in our cities where vehicle emissions are concentrated. Vehicle emissions kill more people than road accidents - in the UK there are 12,000 pollution-related deaths per year compared to 3,000 road deaths. The UK has the highest incidence of asthma in the world.
Our island is the second most congested in Europe and London is the most polluted city in the UK - yet traffic is forecast to increase by 28% by 2025 and 50% by 2050.
We are running out of climate control.
Climate change is one of the greatest threats to mankind. Carbon emissions are causing the CO2 levels in the atmosphere to rise rapidly and there are signs that the earth is reaching its capacity to absorb more, whilst we are rapidly destroying carbon absorbing features such as rain forest. The earth's regulatory system appears to be failing and the scientific consensus is that we must act now to dramatically reduce our carbon emissions.
Cars account for about one third of all emissions, but while some emissions are reducing, emissions from cars are rising rapidly due to the sheer number of new cars arriving on roads around the world.
We are running out of time.
It seems that every week there is new news about the speed at which change is happening, always much faster than the models had previously forecast.
It is clear that doing nothing is no longer an option.
Electric cars are the future. Now.
The technology exists now and is improving quickly.
It is clean, available, affordable and sustainable. No other technology comes close.
It is highly likely that in a few years the only cars allowed in cities will be emission free - and for most people that means electric.
Electric cars save lives now, not just in the future.
G-Wiz have now been driven for over 20 million customer miles with no reported deaths or serious injuries. This is partly because they are low speed vehicles, but it is more than this.
G-Wiz are smaller, lighter vehicles (classified as quadricycles and governed by weight and power restrictions) and as such are driven more defensively and with greater caution. They are also less likely to injure other road users.
GoinGreen is committed to socially responsible motoring and to safer roads for all Londoners.
Electric cars are convenient.
EVs are mechanically simpler than ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles.
They can be charged at home, at work or at the growing number of off-street (car park) and on-street charging points.
GoinGreen also provide a mobile servicing and maintenance facility, taking away the hassle of taking your vehicle to the service centre.
Electric cars save you money - lots.

Government authorities in London and increasingly elsewhere have put in place incentives which mean that you can recover the full cost of purchasing a G-Wiz in a year.
Electricity is so efficient that for the price of a tank of petrol you can drive a G-Wiz for a year. No road tax, no congestion charges, free and heavily discounted parking, a special low rate of company car tax (9%) and for businesses a 100% year one tax write down. In London these savings can reduce your motoring costs by 90%.
